WINES TRADE AWARENESS WORKSHOP BY DIRECTORATE INTERNATIONAL TRADE PROMOTIONS & NAMC 2024
The Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development in conjunction with the National Agricultural Marketing Council (NAMC) hosted a virtual Trade Awareness Workshop For Emerging Farmers on Wines on the 13 March 2024.This session targeted emerging wine producers or traders as well as Farmer Production Support Units, extension officers in the provinces and government officials.
The main aim of the webinar was to raise awareness on all critical aspects of the exporter value chain for those interested to participate in exports either directly or indirectly. Topics to be covered:
- Export marketing (EMIA) incentives
- What producers need to know about participating in the export value chain for wines
- Industry transformation (through levy funds)
- Emerging markets
- Black owned brands and other initiatives
- Export certification, processes, procedures and regulatory requirements of the Liquor Products Act and various export markets
- International trade agreements and preferential trade
