GOAT MARKET INFORMATION DAY

The National Agricultural Marketing Council (NAMC) hosted a virtual Goat Market Information Day webinar on the 28 September 2023. This webinar targeted farmers, extension officers in the provinces and government officials.

The main aim of the webinar was to raise awareness on various factors affecting Goat’s Value Chain. Topics to be covered included Kaonafatso ya Dikgomo (KyD) Scheme – Goat Market Initiatives, Animal Improvement Act, 1998 (Act 62 of 1998) & Goat Production in SA, SA Goat Meat Market and Its Potential: Supply vs Demand Tried and Tested, Angora Goat Farming – Mohair Empowerment Trust, Goat Business, Is It Easy or Not?, and The Goat Market in KZN and Farming with Goats.
