Dr Hilda Lefophane has been appointed a Ministerial Trustee and Chairperson of the Citrus Industry Trust (CIT). Dr Hildah Lefophane is a Senior Lecturer in Agricultural Economics at the University of Limpopo. She holds a PhD degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Pretoria.

South Africa will host the 2023 African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) summit from 02 – 04 November 2023 and it remains the biggest exporter of agricultural products under the AGOA followed by Ghana, Madagascar, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, as well as Mauritius.

The Agribusiness Development Division (ADD) of the NAMC was established in 2006 to collaborate with various institutions both nationally and internationally.

AGRICULTURAL TRUSTS

The Agricultural Trusts Division was established to manage and coordinate the communication process between the Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and Agricultural Industry Trusts.

MARKETS AND ECONOMIC RESEARCH CENTRE

This portal is a showcase of recent economic research output published at least quarterly by the NAMC.

STATUTORY MEASURES

The purpose of the Statutory Measures Division is to facilitate the process to implement statutory measures in order to promote the efficiency of the marketing of agricultural products.

The AAMP is one of the seven priority plans identified by President Ramaphosa in the State of Nation Address (SONA) of 2019 as part of key economic sectors essential for the economic reconstruction and recovery during and post the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Branding of South African Agriculture

This is an initiative coordinated by the National Agricultural Marketing Council with the support of the Agricultural CEO’s Forum. The core objective of Love South African Agriculture campaign is to promote local agriculture and bring about brand awareness of various agricultural products.
